Property Planning Australia has a national team of dedicated professionals in investment and home loan, property and financial planning advice supported by our client service experts. The team is a passionate and united group that strive to lead the industry in providing advice that is in your best interests supported by a client services department where ‘anything is possible’.
Internally PPA has a vibrant, progressive and enthusiastic culture which revolves around self improvement. The team is encouraged to take on activities outside of the office environment with the company supporting all staff financially with health and recreation allowances. The team also each receive an extra day’s leave to celebrate their birthday as well as an equal share of company profit.

Our Directors
Mark Armstrong has over 15 years’ property experience, specialising in portfolio planning, acquisition and development. He commenced his business Armstrong Property Planning in 2002 before founding Property Planning Australia with David in 2004.
Mark holds a Bachelor degree in Business – Accounting from RMIT University and is Certified practicing Accountant. He is also a licensed real estate agent and a full member of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria.
Mark is a respected media commentator on property and financial matters and writes a regular Property Planner column in the Sunday Age. A keen advocate of greater transparency in the property industry he presents regular seminars for a range of professional bodies including CPA Australia, Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia, Financial Review Investor Education and AFL players association.
In his spare time Mark enjoys holidays with his kids, surfing, reading and a good glass of wine with family and friends.
David Johnston has more than a decade of experience in the finance and home loan advice industries. After gaining experience with a major bank, he saw the opportunity to enter the fledgling mortgage broking industry in 1999. He established and grew the highly successful mortgage advisory arm of an insurance company before founding Property Planning Australia with Mark in July 2004. With the skill set developed from this experience David has been able to play the role of architect in the rapid growth and development of Property Planning Australia.
David has regularly appeared in the media in publications such as The Age, Australia Property Investor magazine and Your Mortgage magazine. He is also a member of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia's Victorian State Originators Committee and holds a management degree from Deakin University.
Outside of his business pursuits, David is passionate about music, travelling, sport, & enjoying a good time with friends and family.
James McFall commenced his career in Financial Services in 1996 and became a Financial Planner in 2000. In 2003, he was recruited from Sydney to Melbourne to build the financial planning arm of a large Victorian Insurance Broker. Following this success, he went in to business himself, establishing Fusion Wealth Management in 2006.
Recognising the synergies between his own business and Property Planning Australia, James merged this newly formed business with PPA in February 2008.
Committed and passionate about providing high quality advice, James holds a Master of Commerce degree (Financial Planning) through the University of Western Sydney and has a Diploma of Financial Advising through Securities Institute of Australia. He is also an Affiliate Member of the FPA.
Outside of work James enjoys sport, travel, quality food and wine and spending time with his friends and family.
Will Foster is a property finance specialist with 10 years experience in the banking industry. After graduating from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Commerce (Banking and Finance) degree in 1998, Will spent 5 years with the Commonwealth Bank working in their retail and commercial banking areas. Since leaving the Commonwealth Bank in 2003, Will has been advising clients on the financial aspects of their home and investment property purchases.
Will heads up the Sydney office of Property Planning Australia after spending four years building up a successful business in Bondi Junction.
Will is passionate about property as an asset, and has a keen interest in helping his clients to build their property portfolios. Outside of his business pursuits Will enjoys spending time with his young family, travelling with friends and playing and watching sport.
